In 2003 Birchwood Shopping Centre had over five million shoppers pass through its doors, all with shopping on their minds.

With a 50,000 sq ft refurbishment completed in 2002 bringing the total size of the Centre to 320,000sq ft, the range of shops has never been better.

The largest Asda superstore in the area forms the corner stone of the Centre but with 80 other superb retailers, there can be no doubt that Birchwood has everything for the shy browser to the hardened shopaholic.

After a morning of looking around shops such as Superdrug, Simon One Sports, New Look, QVC, Peacocks and Argos, the afternoon can be spent relaxing in the Centre’s cafés or being pampered in one of the Centre’s three hair salons. No-one ever goes hungry in the Centre either, with big names such as Burger King, McDonalds, Subway and Greggs bakery all offering tasty snacks.

Birchwood Shopping Centre also holds many community events such as nest box or bird feeder building workshops with the Risely Moss Action Group and is proud of its environmental policy.

The school holidays often see Birchwood holding workshops to keep the children happy. These typically include face painting or kite making and it is even possible to spot the odd clown or Woody, Birchwood’s very own mascot in the Centre.

Recently Birchwood made the move to become a non-smoking Centre and prides itself on a safe and secure environment for shoppers.

So come on over to your bigger, better Birchwood which is ideally situated in the hub of the North West motorway network just off the M62. Birchwood is easily accessible by train from Manchester and Liverpool and with 1600 free car parking spaces there is no excuse for not coming to see what Birchwood has to offer.
